Wendy Knapinski

Wendy Knapinski is the mother of 3 beautiful children, one boy and two girls. She has been happily married for 12 years. Her family loves hiking, outdoors sports, and camping. Yoga helps Wendy to sustain an active lifestyle.

Wendy began practicing Yoga in 2011. She fell in love with yoga during her very first class. Even though she was drenched in her own sweat, after class, she felt clean. There was a pure internal energy that flowed through her body. She kept coming back to class because it made her feel so good and she wanted to continue to cleanse her body. Over time, other benefits of practicing yoga became apparent. She started noticing she was more patient and kind to both herself and those in her community. Wendy knew right away that she wanted to share her experience with as many people as she could.

In 2012, Wendy attended the first teacher training offered by Gary at The Ashram. She learned so much more than just how to teach. The training allowed her to open up and be vulnerable which led to deep spiritual growth. Ashram Teacher Training instilled her with the knowledge necessary to become a successful yoga teacher on the Eastside. She has spent the last several years teaching and attending workshops to develop her understanding of alignment, verbal cues, and using breath to deepen postures. She has found all of her training and workshops key in becoming the teacher she is today.

In 2015, Wendy chose to repeat The Ashram teacher training. During this second round of her teacher training, Wendy has been able to further develop and bring her spiritual practice to a new level. Gary’s mentorship in Transcendental Meditation continues to open her mind and heart to all aspects of her human experience.

Although Wendy has been teaching since 2013, she began teaching exclusively at The Ashram in 2016. Wendy is thrilled to be a part of the staff at The Ashram. She currently teaches both the Power and Bikram’s yoga in the Kirkland and Bellevue locations. She believes that she and all of The Ashram staff have a common mission- to provide top quality yoga instruction to all of their students.
